The Afterthoughts Book Club started in 201 9 as a way to gather literary lovers together and read titles we may not h ave opted to pick up before! Leaning into more of an exploratory manner\, the Afterthoughts then looked to reading titles set elsewhere and written by authors who are from or live in these areas to bring a more authentic l ook into the daily lives of our characters. \; \;
\nBook clu b titles may be based on diversity months celebrated by the Library Distri ct and other diversity dates\, but also alternate with BYOB (Bring Your Ow n Book) events and sometimes lighter reads\, as some of our picks can be e motionally heavy.
\nWe meet every two weeks to discuss the book sele ction\, sometimes delaying titles if they are thicker tomes. \; You ca n see our past reads here:
\nRegistration for attendance is not necessary\, though space is b ased on a first-come\, first-served basis and is limited. \; Please re gister if you'd like a text or email reminder a couple of days prior to th e event and as titles are selected.
