Artist and Bowling Green resident Cindy Ho uston will share her work with viewers at Thistle Cottage in August as the featured artist for the month.

Houston creates unique works of we arable art using organic cotton fabric and locally sourced plants. Each pi ece reflects the natural world on cloth\, transformed through the process of botanical alchemy. Her materials - organic cotton\, silk\, local plants \, and zero-waste patterns - are all part of her commitment to a sustainab le artistic practice. The one-size scarves\, vests\, tunics and kimono jac kets are made using a low-waste approach to pattern making\, cutting\, sew ing and dyeing.

Join us Aug. 4 to meet the artist\, view her work and learn how she creates her beautifully colorful pieces using the plants that grow naturally in the world around us.
