 scussions.&nbsp\;This is a family friendly event\, but geared toward child
 ren in early elementary.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Each month\, we'll begin by sharin
 g the original Three Little Pigs\, followed by an adaptation with funny\, 
 modern\, or unexpected twists. After the stories\, children can test their
  own architectural skills with open play using a variety of building manip
 ulatives.</p>\n<p>Retelling stories is a great way to help children build 
 background knowledge and comprehension.&nbsp\;Children then have the oppor
 tunity to&nbsp\;compare &ndash\; What&rsquo\;s the same?&nbsp\; What&rsquo
 \;s different?&nbsp\; This kind of analysis encourages deeper understandin
 g and critical thinking. Taking a story they know well and changing it jus
 t a little will encourage their engagement in discussion. Fairytales and f
 olk tales are a perfect opportunity for this practice.<br /><br /></p>\n<p
