Melanie Monique Rose is a Metis/Ukrainian visual artist from Regina\, Sask
atchewan Treaty 4 Territory\, a citizen of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewa
 n\, and a long-time contributing member of&nbsp\;S&acirc\;k&ecirc\;w&ecirc
\;wak Artists&rsquo\; Collective Inc. and board member. Rose&rsquo\;s work
centres on kinship and relationships between the land\, ourselves and eac
h other. Through plants and flowers Rose invites transmissions of ancestra
l knowledge and teachings while also imagining and creating a de-colonial
future through the lens of Metis worldviews.</p>\n<p>Rose has works in Sas
katchewan as an independent curator\, gallery facilitator\, story-keeper\,
and art instructor and in addition teaches various workshops at both publ
ic and private institutions.</p>\n<p>In 2018 her daughter Meadow Rose was
 born and is currently a full-time mom\, caregiver\, and artist. Becoming a
mother has increased Rose&rsquo\;s desire to share the stories of her cul
ture and family and has challenged the way she creates independently and a
s a shared experience with her daughter. Currently Rose is working on a la
rge-scale fashion collaboration with the land\, her daughter\, mother and
twelve Saskatchewan based designers called &ldquo\;Meadows" which is named
after her daughter.</p>\n<p>Melanie is represented by the &nbsp\;Assinibo
ia Gallery in Regina\, SK.</p>\n<p>Learn more about Melanie's work here: <
