 on core principles of mixed media layering. Beginners are welcome and enco
 uraged!</p>\n<p>In this eight-week course\, students aged 55 and older wil
 l learn the unique opportunities that making art by layering with mixed me
 dia offers. We will use inks\, acrylics\, collage and discarded books to e
 xplore the layering properties of these materials. Each week images and ex
 ercises will be suggested as starting points.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Participants 
 should bring scissors. All other materials will be provided\, including pa
 per\, paint and inks. If you have artist brushes\, bring those along! And\
 , optionally\, if you have paint at home you&rsquo\;d like to use up\, bri
 ng that too.&nbsp\;An exhibit of student work is planned for Saturday\, De
 cember 12\, 1-2 p.m. at the Callaway County Public Library.</p>\n<p>Adults
