 s in Asian American history. Marie's biography\, <em>Mamie Takes a Stand: 
 The True Story of Mamie Tape\, a Chinese American Girl's Fight for School 
 Rights</em>\, received a 2024 Eureka! Gold Award for Excellence in Childre
 n's Nonfiction from the California Reading Association and was listed in t
 he Center for the Study of Multicultural Children's Literature's Best Book
 s of 2024. Marie is a former California public school teacher and has pres
 ented her biography research at the Asian American Education Project\, UCI
  School of Education\, Portland Chinatown Museum\, and the San Diego Chine
