In January 1948\, Washington's annotated c opy of the U.S. Constitution\, Jefferson's marked-up draft of the Declarat ion of Independence\, Lincoln&rsquo\;s signed Emancipation Proclamation\, and many more priceless artifacts of American history passed through Arkan sas for public viewing on the cross-country Freedom Train exhibit. The dis play of these documents in the Jim Crow South was not without its controve rsy. Dr. Kelly Houston Jones will outline the Freedom Train's activities a nd explore the public discussions generated by its historic journey throug h Arkansas.
