X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Where do family history myths come from\,
and why do they persist so stubbornly? This presentation explores the rich
human origins of genealogical mythmaking and dismantles some of the most
common family legends\, from specious claims of Ellis Island name changes
and vague royal ancestry to false narratives about powerless women and unt
raceable roots. Through rigorous\, evidence-based research guided by curio
sity and compassion\, we can uncover more nuanced and compelling personal
truths beneath these enduring stories. Presented by Michael Traynor.</p>\n
<p>Feeling the ineffable pull of his ancestors\, Michael began researching
his family tree in the early 2000s. Since then\, he has honed his skills\
, studied under top professionals in the field\, and turned his passion in
to a livelihood. Owing to his background in teaching English\, he is a sha
rp-eyed\, meticulous researcher who thinks outside the box to help unravel
familial mysteries. Located in North Jersey\, Michael researches primaril
y within New Jersey\, New York City\, and southern New York State\, but he
also has conducted extensive research on families from Pennsylvania\, Del
 aware\, Maryland\, Tennessee\, Virginia\, West Virginia\, and also Eastern
Europe\, with special focus on Jewish and Irish research.</p>\nhttps://ac
