Step Up is a program for Black and Latino young men ages 13-21 who live in White Plains and can benefit from guidanc e and help figuring out what they want to do in life and how to get there. The program focuses on character development\, goal setting\, building se lf- confidence and self-esteem. The program&rsquo\;s aim is to improve the young men&rsquo\;s social\, behavioral\, academic and occupational outcom es\, when/if necessary. The young men go on several free trips throughout the school year and participate in group meetings once a week covering var ious topics. The program facilitator\, Donald Thompson\, has a Master&rsqu o\;s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and has extensive exper ience working with youth in school and community-based settings.
