Step Up is a program for Black and Latino young men ages 13-21 who live in White Plains and can ben efit from guidance and help figuring out what they want to do in life and how to get there. The program focuses on character development\, goal sett ing\, building self-confidence and self-esteem. The program&rsquo\;s aim i s to improve the young men&rsquo\;s social\, behavioral\, academic and occ upational outcomes\, when/if necessary. The young men go on several free t rips throughout the school year and participate in group meetings once a w eek covering various topics. The program facilitator\, Donald Thompson\, h as a Master&rsquo\;s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and has extensive experience working with youth in school and community-based set tings.
