As the Montgomery County Library system celebrates 75 yea rs\, learn about the Twinbrook Library\, which opened in 1959 in rented sp ace in a local shopping center and moved into the current building in 1976 .
\nThe Time Capsule event will be occurring at the same time. We as k you to help us fill a time capsule to be opened in 25 years when MCPL ce lebrates 100 years. \;
\nDonate any small keepsakes such as: old summer reading t-shirts\, expired library cards\, photographs of the Twin brook area\, copy of favorite book\, any MCPL swag\, etcetera. If your ite m is too big or we no longer have space\, a photo can be taken.
\nIf you are unable to make it to the actual event but would still like to par ticipate\, donations for the time capsule will be accepted beginning Septe mber 1 through to the day of the event on September 12. \; In addition \, postcards will also be available beginning September 1 where positive m essages\, thoughts\, and memories can be written for those opening the tim e capsule in 25 years to read! \; \;

\nLibrary Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have a n accompanying child.
