Come hang out at the San Marco Branch Libr ary for our Card Game Jamboree event from 12-4pm on Saturday\, Sep tember 26th. You will find casual play all day\, so walk in anyti me and hop into a game! We will have a scheduled tournament for all three card games throughout the day. We will be playing:

\nCan you play as a complete beginner?
\nYes! All casual play and tournament spaces will be monitored by a staff member knowledgeable a bout the game. Beginners are welcome\, though we may encourage beginners t o stick to the casual play areas and not the tournament.
\nH ow do you sign up for a tournament?
\nTournament sign-up wi ll be on-site and day-of. There will be about 12-24 spots per game. Casual play will be open from 12-4pm.
\nWill there be prizes?
\nDefinitely! Each tournament will have a 3rd\, 2nd\, and 1st p lace prize\, which will include anything from booster packs to commander b ox\, unique card sleeves to a rare card. There will also be freebies for a ll participants (while supplies last!) so you don't need to participate or win in a tournament to get a goodie. \;
\nHow will age ranges be monitored?
\nAge ranges will be monitored by libr ary staff. We want to make sure anyone\, of any age\, has something they c an drop into! We may ask someone older to move to Pokemon or Magic\, for e xample. We want to acknowledge different age groups and make sure there's a safe\, appropriate space for everyone. Card games will be separated via children's area\, teen area\, and main hall. \;
\nHow ab out some books?
\nLibrary staff will select some of our bes t book materials around any of our fandoms\, so come check out a very fant asy and adventure-stuffed selection of hand-picked books to check out!
\nCan I bring my own deck and supplies?
\nYou ca n absolutely bring your own deck and supplies! We will have decks and spec ial exclusive dragon cards for Reading Dragons. For Pokemon\, we will have some light deck materials and decks you can play on-site only\, but suppl ies are limited. For Magic: The Gathering\, we will only have starter deck s designed for beginner play\, which can be kept\, but will not have full commander decks. \;
\nCan I trade cards?
\n< p>While you can trade cards\, the library is not responsible and will not oversee any trading that occurs. \;\nCan I play oth er games?
\nThe aforementioned card games will be over seen by staff and supported with supplies. With that said\, the library is open and free for all! if you find a space and some players\, we absolute ly encourage you to play whatever game sparks your imagination!
\nWhat if I want to take a break from card games?
We will have craft stations and other activities set-up for different ages. I f you are waiting for a family member to finish a game or you just want a card game break\, stop by and hang out at our craft area!
\nWhat is parking like?
\nParking is available directly in fr ont of the building. There is also free street parking in San Marco. \ ;
\nCan I have food or drinks?
\nWe do not ha ve a space in the library for food specifically\, but you are welcome to e at outside. Covered drinks allowed only (if you have a secure lid\, it's a ll good!). \;
\nCan I play after or before the event hou rs?
\nYes! The library is open 10-6pm so you can come outsi de the event hours to play some games. Card games within the event hours w ill be directly monitored by staff and all tournaments will be between eve nt hours.
\nWhat is the challenge rating / bracket for Magic: The Gathering?
\nThis will not be a high -end bracket environment. Please bring a bracket 2 or bracket 3 deck. Libr ary staff will monitor overall deck balance to make the games as fun and i nviting as possible\, matching players up by deck challenge as much as rea sonably possible. \;
\n\nOur priority for all is to creat e a balanced\, exciting\, and welcoming atmosphere for players of all ages to engage with some of the best card games out there! \;
