Step up to the plate and join us for a one -of-a-kind library takeover where baseball\, reading\, and STEM come toget her for a grand slam of fun! This event will include \;free food\, mus ic\, prizes\, baseball-themed fun\, literacy activities\, and hands-on STE M challenges for the whole family!
\nFamilies are invited to partici pate in the \;Diamond District Home Run Challenge\, an interactive adv enture that transforms the library into a baseball diamond packed with han ds-on activities. As children round the bases from station to station\, th ey'll complete exciting literacy\, baseball\, and STEM challenges while co llecting stamps on their \;Diamond District Homerun Challenge \;ev ent scorecard in partnership with DCPL&rsquo\;s \;Discover Summer! Along the way\, parti cipants will discover new books\, explore science and technology concepts\ , and build their skills as they work toward becoming \;All-Star Reade rs.
\nEach participant will receive a baseball diamond-themed tracke r card inspired by the Washington Nationals\, designed to guide them aroun d the event and celebrate their accomplishments. Once you've collected mar ks from five stations\, head to the \;dugout \;redemption area&nbs p\;to claim your prize.
\nAll youth will receive a backpack filled with school supplies\, while supplies last. \;
