Vocalist Petra van Nuis and pianist Dennis Luxion\, a Chicago-based duo\, have been noted for their &ldquo\;seamless camaraderie&rdquo\; (Chicago Jazz Magazine). Dennis is best know n for being Chet Baker&rsquo\;s pianist during a European tour\, and for m aking six recordings with him. Dennis&rsquo\;s recent overseas performance s included a tour of Southern Africa as part of the Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad program\, administered by Jazz at Lincoln Center. Petra has b een praised for possessing &ldquo\;a light\, gorgeous\, and fairly delicat e voice&hellip\;[with] a gift for melody and plenty of rhythmic confidence &rdquo\; (DownBeat magazine). Petra is known for her celebrated R ecession Seven jazz ensemble and her intimate duo with her husband\, guita rist Andy Brown. After countless gigs together\, Petra and Dennis collabor ated on Because We&rsquo\;re Night People\, a collection of eveni ng-related songs. The album was awarded 4 stars and included in the &ldquo \;Best of 2019&rdquo\; issue of DownBeat magazine. Petra and Denn is continue their Saturday-night residency at Le Piano jazz club\, and rec ently recorded the song &ldquo\;From Me to You.&rdquo\;
