 ates space for dialogue and connection through storytelling. This Canadian
 -set short film highlights both the opportunities and challenges of migrat
 ion\, showcasing the contributions and experiences of immigrants while spa
 rking meaningful conversations.</p>\n<h4>About the Film - Journey of Resil
 ience (2026)&nbsp\;</h4>\n<p>This short film tells the inspiring story of 
 a determined Spanish immigrant who transforms her struggles in Canada into
  triumph. Through dance\, she finds hope and motivation to inspire and sup
 port fellow immigrants on their journeys. Created in KW as Great&rsquo\;s 
 capstone project for Conestoga College&rsquo\;s Broadcasting &ndash\; Tele
 vision and Independent Production program\, it reflects the spirit and exp
 eriences of our local community.</p>\n<p>The film has received several rec
 ognitions\, including: Award: Best Use of Music Score in a Film &ndash\; C
 anadian Black Screen Awards (2025)\, Official Selection &amp\; Nominee: To
 ronto International Nollywood Film Festival (2025)\, Official Selection &a
 mp\; Nominee: Brampton International Nollywood Film Festival (2025)\, and 
 Official Selection &amp\; Finalist: Clown Film Festival (2025).</p>\n<h4>A
 bout the Director</h4>\n<p>Great Osa-oni is a filmmaker based in the Regio
 n of Waterloo. Great's work resonates with the Waterloo Region Migration F
 ilm Festival as it reflects stories of immigrant resilience\, cultural exp
 eriences\, and community building.</p>\n<h4>About the Waterloo Region Migr
 ation Film Festival</h4>\n<p>The Waterloo Region Migration Film Festival (
 WRMFF) will run from September 10 to October 2\, 2026. The Immigration Par
 tnership organizes the WRMFF annually to facilitate greater discussion aro
 und migration and relocation. This is achieved by creating spaces for resp
 ectful interaction and dialogue. Storytelling is the oldest way to share a
 nd have impactful conversations around social issues. WRMFF serves as an e
 ducational tool that can influence perceptions and attitudes toward migran
 ts by bringing attention to matters that affect basic human rights! All of
  the featured films aim to spark meaningful conversations and will resonat
 e with a diverse audience\, including individuals who do not speak English
  and those who are struggling to find a sense of belonging.</p>\n<hr />\n<
