As we travel through our communities\, few of us think about the hidden world of streams and rivers that once flowed across the landscape. In the face of climate change and increased precipi tation\, real life has shown us that stormwater runoff and flooding have i ntensified. Centuries of piping\, culverting and development have hidden t he vast majority of waterways and significantly changed hydrological paths in communities like Edison Township. The impact of these factors can be d evastating: communities are alienated from their streams and historic ecol ogies\, habitats are degraded\, and water quality is compromised. In this presentation\, join Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership (LRWP) Executive D irector Heather Fenyk\, Ph.D.\, AICP/PP in an examination of the changes m ade to local Edison Township streams and hydrology over time.
