Michael Lavrich and his beloved train display are back at the Downtown Bend Library with the help of his son\, Kieran\, and long-time helpers\, Parker Gerard and G race Lickwar.

\n

This marks Lavrich's twenty-sixth year displaying hi s trains at the library\, meaning children who first watched the trains ru n years ago may now have children of their own with whom they share this f amily tradition. Lavrich began collecting trains more than 20 years ago. W hile the public only sees the display once it's all up and running\, the s et-up involves a lot of background work. "I pretty well dedicate December to this\," Lavrich says. "It's a three day set-up and a four day take-down \, and there are a few weeks on each end at home." Thank you Michael for s haring your wonderful collection with us.

\n

All ages are invit ed to watch and listen as the trains run. Lavrich's collection represents trains of the 1920s and '30s made by Lionel\, Dorfan\, Ives and American F lyer.
