fiction and poetry using imagery connected to her experiences of travel an
d the outdoors. Dr. Varley has published three books\, Flood S
tage and Rising\, Sketches at the Naesti Bar\, and You Must Play to Win!\, which w
as a project with legendary Muskingum University softball coach Donna Newb
erry. Dr. Varley is the advisor to First Circle literary magazine and assi
sts students in organizing creative writing events and writing retreats.\n
