Roxbury Library\, in partnership with the Lake Hopatcong Foundation and Roxbury Township Recycling\, is hosting a Re pair Café\; at the Roxbury Fire Company No. 2 on Saturday\, April 18 th\, from 11am-3pm. \; Appointments are highly recommended\, though th ere might be room for walk-ins.
\nRepair services are free\, though a fee for specialized parts may be passed along to the owner of the broken item brought in for repair.
\nPlease bring only items you can carry yourself. We will not have volunteers to assist attendees with transporti ng their items.
\nThere is a limit of \;2 items per household. If you are getting knives sharpened\, there is a limit of& nbsp\;3 knives per person.
\nPlease note: Our fixers will not be able to re pair computers/laptops which are \;5 years or older. Additionally\, if you are looking to get your watch battery replaced\, ple ase be aware that we will only be able to accommodate \;analogue watches. No Apple watches or similar devices will be accepted.
\nWhat is a Repai r Café\;? A &ldquo\;Repair Café\;&rdquo\; is a community-based initiative and movement where people can bring broken household items to be fixed by skilled volunteers\, with the goal of reducing waste by repair ing items instead of throwing them away. It can be a place to learn basic repair skills and foster a sense of community by sharing knowledge and fix ing things together.
\nOur Repair Café\; will accept items by appointment in the following categories:
\nComputers\, Electronics\, Sewing/Mending\, Knife Sharpening\, Woodworking\, Household Appliances\, Jewelry\, Lamps\, Watch Battery Replacement\, &\; Misc.
