X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>It is our hope to preserve and share cultu
ral knowledge across communities using food as the common thread.</p>\n<p>
Quinoa is one a the world's few plants that is a complete protein. The ori
ginal inhabitants of the Andes Mountains held quinoa in high regard and un
derstood it&rsquo\;s nutritional value. Mothers would cook a quinoa porrid
ge to help ween their babies off of breast milk.</p>\n<p>Participants of t
his program will learn how to make their own non-dairy milk and utilize it
when preparing this porridge.</p>\n<p><strong>Meet Your Chef Instructor</
 strong></p>\n<p>Hello! I&rsquo\;m Chef Andrea (Ahn-dreh-ah) Condes\, and I
&rsquo\;m excited to answer your questions about Indigenous foods while sh
aring personal and cultural stories.</p>\n<p>I&rsquo\;ve spent 23 years in
the food and beverage industry &mdash\; from prep cook to executive chef\
, and pastry cook to head pastry chef. For the past 11 years\, I&rsquo\;ve
focused on Indigenous cuisine across the Americas\, inspired by my own de
sire to connect with my roots.</p>\n<p>As a transracial adoptee from Venez
uela\, I use traditional foodways as a bridge to my ancestors\, culture an
d community. Food is a powerful storyteller\, and I&rsquo\;m here to help
you build confidence in your kitchen and connect through Indigenous culina
ry traditions.</p>\n<p>This virtual program will be hosted online in The O
utdoor Theater at Anythink World&nbsp\;<a href="https://www.anythinklibrar

nd adults. This program will be hosted in English. Registration recommende
