Join the Maplewood Library and South Mount ain Film Academy for the premiere of "The Maplewood Theater: The Show Must Go On\," a short documentary shot and produced by the program&rsquo\;s Wi nter 2026 Documentary class. Made by local middle schoolers\, the document ary explores the history of the Maplewood Theater and features interviews with local officials\, business owners\, and residents about the much-anti cipated return of the movie theater\, which closed during the COVID-19 pan demic.

Following the event\, there will be a Q&\;A with Christo pher Cassidy\, founder of the South Mountain Film Academy\, and the studen t documentary filmmakers. A seasoned filmmaker\, Cassidy will talk about&n bsp\;how to navigate \;a career in the industry as well as New Jersey& rsquo\;s rising reputation as the &ldquo\;Hollywood East.&rdquo\; Members of the Maplewood Film Society will also be on hand to answer questions.
