  is an associate professor of English education at the University of Arkan
 sas. A former high school English teacher\, his scholarship and teaching f
 ocuses on visual storytelling and the application of diverse critical pers
 pectives to young adult literature. He is the co-author of&nbsp\;<em>Neoli
 beralism</em> and <em>Young Adult Fiction:&nbsp\;Exceptionalism\, Exploita
 tion\, Erasure</em>\, and the co-editor of&nbsp\;<em>Teaching Girls on Fir
 e: Essays on Dystopian Young Adult Literature in the Classroom</em>.</p>\n
