Her debut novel\, The Berry Pickers\, was the winner of numerous notable awards including the Andrew Carnegie M edal for Excellence in Fiction and the Crime Writers of Canada Best Crime First Novel Award. She lives and writes in Nova Scotia\, where she is an a ssociate professor of English and theatre at Acadia University.
