About the Presenter: Cris sa-Jean Chappell was born in Miami and now lives in Brooklyn\, New York. S he is the author of several award-winning novels including TOTAL CONSTANT ORDER (a VOYA Perfect Te n and New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age)\, MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH\, which Kirkus calls &ldquo\;compelling and emotionally nuanced...&rdquo\; (a Florida Book Awar d medalist) and SNOWBIRDS (&ldquo\;...an engrossing mystery...&rdquo\; Sch ool Library Journal). SUN DO N&rsquo\;T SHINE \; is a Children&rsquo\;s Book Council Favorite. Her most recent novel is NEV ER LEAVE ME ALONE. She holds a PhD and MFA from the University of Miam i and is a professor of creative writing at Lehman College. When she misse s South Florida\, she talks to the parrots in Green-Wood Cemetery.
\nCrissa-Jean Chappell presents a 90-minute hands on workshop helping parti cipants to write and polish flash fiction. Books by the author will be ava ilable for purchase at the end of the program.
