Dr. Coste completed her bre ast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of California Los Angel es\, where she trained in providing personalized\, evidence-based surgical care for breast cancer\, benign breast disease\, and high-risk patients. With advanced expertise in techniques such as hidden scar lumpectomies\, n ipple-sparing mastectomies\, nipple delay\, aesthetic flat closure\, Goldi locks mastectomy and targeted axillary dissection.
\nShe is particul arly focused on treating women with pathogenic mutations\, triple-negative breast cancer\, and oncoplastic surgery for breast conservation.
\nAs a Florida native\, Dr. Coste graduated magna cum laude from the Univers ity of Central Florida. She continued her education at A.T. Still Universi ty School of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa\, AZ where she graduated as a me mber of the Sigma Sigma Phi honor society. She completed her general surge ry training at New York Medical College at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn\, NY. During her residency\, was awarded an NCI/NIH Ruth L. Ki rschstein NRSA T32 Research Grant and completed a research fellowship in S urgical Oncology at Montefiore Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bron x\, NY. There she conducted in vivo research with a multi-photon microscop e to study the expression of MenaInv and SOX-2 protein in the breast cance r tumor microenvironment.
\nDr. Coste believes that continuing educa tion and research are crucial to the improvement of breast care. She has a uthored several peer-reviewed articles on the tumor micro- environment in breast cancer and has presented on the topic of metastatic breast cancer a t several national meetings for her research in breast cancer. She recentl y published on occult breast cancer and surgical outcomes in patients with triple negative breast cancer treated with immunotherapy and surgeon perf ormed US-guided localization. Her clinical research interests include impr oving outcomes in underserved populations and those who receive neoadjuvan t chemotherapy. She is an active member of \;various professional orga nizations and remains committed to advancing breast cancer through researc h and education. In her free time. Dr. Coste is an avid yogi who loves pra cticing vinyasa yoga and spending quality time with her family.
