X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Born Timothy James Curry in Cheshire\, Eng
land\, he studied drama at the University of Birmingham and first made his
name on the London stage.&nbsp\; In 1973 he originated Dr. Frank-N-Furthe
r in <em>The Rocky Horror Picture Show</em>.&nbsp\; Two years later he bro
ught that "sweet transvestite from Transexual\, Transylvania" to the scree
n.&nbsp\; The film flopped on first release.&nbsp\; Then midnight audience
s in New York started shouting back at the screen\, dressing up\, and thro
wing rice.&nbsp\; Fifty years later those screenings are still going.&nbsp
 \; Curry's fearless\, magnetic\, completely unembarrassed performance is a
big reason why.&nbsp\; He didn't just play the part - he gave people perm
ission to be loud\, weird\, and fully themselves.</p>\n<p>A decade after t
hat he played Wadsworth the Butler in <em>Clue</em>.&nbsp\; I first became
a fan in 1985 when my cousin rented it from the video store.&nbsp\; I tho
ught it was one of the best movies I'd ever seen\, and that Tim Curry (as
Wadsworth) was one of the great actors.&nbsp\; His machine-gun timing and
physical comedy hold the entire chaotic mansion together.&nbsp\; That film
also found its audience later and now has its own devoted following.&nbsp
 \; I\, myself\, have lost count how many times I watched <em>Clue</em>.</p
 >\n<p>Whether you discovered Tim as Frank-N-Further\, Wadsworth\, Pennywis
 e\, or the concierge who wouldn't give a Kevin a room\, Curry had a rare g
ift: he made the outrageous look effortless and invited everyone to enjoy
it too.</p>\n<p>Fellow Tim Curry fans - come join us as we celebrate his l
ife by watching two of his classics.</p>\n<p>Free and open to the public.<
