In partnership with the Detroit Lakes Libr ary Club\, the Detroit Lakes Public Library is pleased to welcome Erika Gi lsdorf to the library for a presentation on storytelling\, including an ov erview of the various storytelling tools she has used over the years with a particular focus on her most recent storytelling tool - podcasting. All are welcome and the program is offered free-of-charge.

Erika Gilsdorf became an Initiator Fellow i
n January 2026 through the Initiative Foundation and West Central Initiati
ve. Through this fellowship\, she has launched a podcast\, \;The Globa
l Grit Experience\, that seeks to inspire and empower environmental stewar
dship and climate action in our communities. Erika has been involved in st
orytelling since 2007 using a variety of tools to reach people including v
ideo\, social media\, radio\, print\, television broadcast\, and now a pod
cast. \; She's worked with entities such as Lakes TV3/Leighton Media\,
National Geographic\, The Nature Conservancy\, and many others locally an
d worldwide. She has received multiple awards for her work. \;
