AI is affecting us in many ways today. As AI capability continues to advance\, it might affect us in more ways than we thought possible. If AI will affect all of us\, then we should all get some sort of say in the direction it takes.
\nParticipants will watc h a short video introducing the rapid pace of AI development. A facilitate d group discussion will follow\, exploring how AI is already changing our lives\, and what that means for our community\, safety\, and future.
\nOpen to adults. Registration is suggested but not required and begins October 12.

\nThe \;AI Safety Awareness Project \;is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit f ounded on the belief that a safe AI future is one where the traditional pi llars of U.S. society have a seat at the table in deciding the direction o f AI. The AI Safety Awareness Project (AISAP) want to be there for the fir st step: education and skills-building\, so that Americans have the necess ary expertise and awareness to direct our AI future. They run workshops an d education programs for a variety of community groups and public institut ions including law enforcement agencies\, libraries\, churches\, universit ies\, as well as the general public. AISAP partners with industry experts to inform organizations about frontier AI research and developments\, incl uding topics as diverse as workforce augmentation and displacement\, AI ag ents and companions\, cybercrime\, AGI (Artificial General Intelligence)\, and loss of control risk.
