X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Our December 2026 selection is&nbsp\;<em>W
 hat Can I Do?&nbsp\;</em>by Jane Fonda.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p class="heading5">
FROM CATALOG</p>\n<p><em>"This is the last possible moment in history when
changing course can mean saving lives and species on an unimaginable scal
 e. It's too late for moderation."</em></p>\n<p>In the fall of 2019\, frust
rated with the obvious inaction of politicians and inspired by Greta Thunb
erg\, Naomi Klein\, and student climate strikers\, Jane Fonda moved to Was
hington\, D.C.\, to lead weekly climate change demonstrations on Capitol H
ill. On October 11\, she launched Fire Drill Fridays\, and has since led t
housands of people in nonviolent civil disobedience\, risking arrest to pr
otest for action. In&nbsp\;What Can I Do?\, Fonda weaves her deeply person
al journey as an activist alongside conversations with and speeches by lea
ding climate scientists and inspiring community organizers\, and dives dee
p into the issues\, such as water\, migration\, and human rights\, to emph
asize what is at stake. Most significantly\, Fonda equips us all with the
tools we need to join her in protest\, so that everyone can work to combat
the climate crisis.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Copies of this title are available t
