 te portrait of Mary Todd Lincoln.</p>\n<p>Romano is a long-time national p
 olitical writer for <em>The Washington Post</em>\, <em>Politico</em>\, and
  <em>The Daily Beast</em>. She started her <em>Post</em> career in the pap
 er's Style section writing political profiles. During her tenure at <em>Th
 e Post</em>\, she covered campaigns\, started the <em>Poses Reliable Sourc
 e Column</em>\, was a regional correspondent\,&nbsp\;and covered higher ed
