Spending time and energy focusing on other s can cause caregivers to ignore their own health and wellbeing. This can lead to caregiver stress. This presentation by licensed social worker\, La uren Gale\, will help attendees recognize caregiver stress and the importa nce of managing those stressors. She will also discuss tips for caregiver support\, accepting help\, and identifying barriers to self-care.

\nLauren Gale\, LSW\, has worked as a social worker at the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education si nce 2022. She volunteered at the center in 2013 and completed their 40hr I n Home Caregiver training course in 2015. She worked for a caregiving agen cy for a summer between community college and the University of Arkansas. Lauren graduated with her bachelor&rsquo\;s in social work in 2018. Lauren currently teaches caregivers how to care for someone with dementia\, faci litates five dementia caregiver support groups\, and manages the respite p rogram held at the Schmieding Center.
