 s..\nhttps://glendaleca.libnet.info/event/17388844
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Nehemiah Cisneros' work celebrates histori
es of figurative painting by inserting familial characters as central figu
res of iconic and lesser known works of art. The process of subverting pai
ntings that have penetrated popular culture\; as well as illuminating nich
e visual art genres is Cisneros' practice of navigating his place within a
rt history. Cisneros&rsquo\; work is riddled with meta meanings\, often in
trospective and vulnerable. Like diary entries\, each body of work straddl
es contemporary events while archiving culture. Cisneros received his BFA
from Kansas City Art Institute in 2021\, and his MFA from the University o
f California Los Angeles in 2024.</p>\n<p>Art Talks at Brand invites conte
mporary artists to discuss their work and the issues surrounding it\, foll
owed by a moderated Q&amp\;A with Brand staff member\, artist\, and writer
Jennifer Remenchik. Artists are selected to reflect the diversity of the
art scene of the greater Los Angeles area.</p>\n<p>The series is sponsored
by the&nbsp\;Brand Associates&nbsp\;and is free and open to the public. A
