DESCRIPTION:Participants will reflect on movements important in their own 
 lives and learn how to integrate words & images to connect with moments in

 roduce a hybrid poem and collage on limited edition "One Down" letterpress
  prints.&nbsp\; Participants will learn about the historical significance 
 of the Filipino phrase "isang bagsak" from the farm workers' movement of t
 he 1960's-1970's and how language helped create solidarity.&nbsp\; Partici
 pants will be invited to reflect on movements important in their own lives
  and how they might integrate words and images to connect with this moment
  in Fil-Am history.&nbsp\; All creative levels welcome with materials prov
 ided.&nbsp\; Program is co-presented by Kundiman Mountain West.</p>\n<p><s
 trong>About the author:</strong>&nbsp\; <strong>JM Huck</strong> is a thir
 d year creative writing MFA candidate at UNLV and chair of the Mountain We
 st region of Kundiman.&nbsp\; Her poetry &amp\; essays have appeared in ne
 arly 40 publications\, and her first collection is forthcoming.&nbsp\; Pre
 viously Huck worked as the Clark County poet laureate coordinator.&nbsp\; 
 Recently\, she learned letterpress printing at Penland School of Craft and
  made the supplied prints/collage backgrounds on an antique press in Phoen
 ix.</p>\n<p><strong>About the artist:</strong>&nbsp\; Originally from Aote
 aroa/New Zealand\, <strong>Jo (JK) Russ</strong> relocated to Las Vegas in
  2010 and is known for her surreal collage works where high fashion\, high
  art and hybrid human/creatures merge.&nbsp\; She has created large-scale 
 interactive collage installations for the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas\, the 
 Delano Hotel\, Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art\, Meow Wolf Santa Fe and the
  Life Is Beautiful festival\, and currently works as faculty at Nevada Sch
 ool of the Arts (NSA).&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Free admission &amp\; open to the pu
