X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Little Placemakers</p>\n<p>Little Placemak
ers: exploring Central Geelong and the Waterfront through the eyes of chil
dren and their caregivers.</p>\n<p>Little Placemakers is a creative engage
ment initiative that encourages children and their caregivers to share the
ir experiences\, ideas and aspirations for the places that matter most to
 them.</p>\n<p>Children interact with streets\, parks\, libraries\, playgro
unds\, open spaces and community destinations every day\, yet they are not
always asked how these places could better support play\, learning\, conn
ection and belonging. Little Placemakers creates a fun and accessible way
for children to contribute their perspectives through drawing\, colouring\
, creative activities and conversations.</p>\n<p>The project draws inspira
tion from child-friendly city principles and the Urban95 framework\, which
encourages communities to consider places from the perspective of a young
child. By listening to the experiences of children and caregivers\, commu
nities can gain valuable insights into how public spaces can better suppor
t family life\, wellbeing and social connection.</p>\n<p>During the Geelon
g Wonder Children's Festival\, children and families will be invited to pa
rticipate in a creative activity exploring what makes places welcoming\, f
un and engaging. Participants will have the opportunity to share ideas\, c
ontribute drawings and reflect on the spaces they enjoy spending time in t
hroughout Central Geelong and the Waterfront.</p>\n<p>Visual storyteller E
lise Motalli will create live illustrations throughout the session\, captu
ring ideas and conversations as they emerge. Through her artwork\, childre
n's stories and perspectives will be transformed into visual narratives th
at celebrate their creativity and imagination.</p>\n<p>The insights gather
ed through Little Placemakers will contribute to ongoing conversations abo
ut place activation\, programming and the creation of child-friendly publi
c spaces across Central Geelong and the Waterfront.</p>\n<p>Locations:</p>
