His distinguished career spans theatre\, l iterature\, journalism\, film\, and comedy\, including performing stand-up comedy at the Kennedy Center in Washington\, D.C.\, and serving as Artist ic Director of Canada's premier Indigenous theatre company\, Native Earth Performing Arts. A recipient of numerous prestigious honours\, including t he Dora Mavor Moore Award and the Chalmers Award\, he has also been twice shortlisted for both the Governor General's Literary Award and the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour.
