\nWe will be reading Night Chef by Mika Song. The Night Chef has never had a family&mdash\;only a dream. She &rsquo\;s spent years living inside the walls of a human restaurant\, honi ng her cooking skills. She knows she can fry an omelette with the best of them&ndash\; but she also knows that humans will never accept her. And so she keeps to herself\, hidden and alone. Then\, one evening\, when Night C hef cracks an egg open for her dinner\, a baby crow named Ichi falls out! Despite being reluctant to leave her home\, Night Chef steps into the wild s in order to reunite Ichi with his family. And along the journey\, she mi ght just find a family to call her own\, too.
\n\n\n\nA book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduate d from story time and are being introduced to more formal &ldquo\;learn-to -read&rdquo\; techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to aw esome books\, get them excited about books and reading\, and help them dev elop social skills through interacting with their peers.
