DESCRIPTION:Places carry stories. A street corner\, a hospital corridor\,
a coastline\, or a house we can no longer enter can become inseparable fro
m the people and experiences we associate with them..\nhttps://grlc.libnet
 .info/event/17454185
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>In this session\, we will explore how poet
 s use place to examine memory\, identity\, belonging\, loss\, and change.
We&rsquo\;ll consider how landscape can become emotional landscape &mdash\
 ; how weather\, architecture\, sounds\, smells\, and physical details can
reveal something about the person experiencing them.</p>\n<p><strong>Writi
ng Challenge</strong></p>\n<p>Write a poem about a place that changed your
speaker in some way.</p>\n<p>Avoid simply describing the place. Instead\,
allow the physical environment to reveal something about the speaker's pa
st or present. The place might have changed\, the speaker might have chang
 ed\, or both.</p>\n<p><strong>Ask yourself:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>What d
oes this place remember that the speaker has forgotten?</li>\n<li>What phy
sical detail carries the most emotional weight?</li>\n<li>How does the spe
aker see this place differently now?</li>\n</ul>\n<p>(Length: no restricti
 ons\; form open.)</p>\nhttps://grlc.libnet.info/event/17454185
