Inspired by the Tate Modern&rsquo\;s trave ling exhibition\, &ldquo\;Surrealism Beyond Borders&rdquo\;\, this worksho p invites writers to explore their own creative unconscious\, opening them selves to play\, the uncanny\, and the potential of dreams to create reali ty. Pairing surrealist paintings and select short readings\, this workshop provides structured writing exercises and classroom dialogue to generate new work. We will discuss issues of craft and sources of inspiration and c reate opportunities for support and sharing. Whether you&rsquo\;re getting started\, feeling stuck in your current body of work\, or just want to ex plore something new\, this class is open to writers across genres and come s as an invitation to write together regardless of experience level.
\nSJ Poulton is a writer and teacher living in t he Arkansas River Valley. A master&rsquo\;s candidate at the University of the South\, SJ writes a weekly arts and culture column for the Courier an d teaches workshops in the area and online.
