Is this your first time visiting for our F ood Pick-up? \; You're in for a treat! \; We offer a comfortable\, boutique-like food rescue experience unlike any other in Indian Springs.& nbsp\; We do have a line and limit the number of folks in the Library spac e to ensure safety. We have staff and volunteers to walk you through your experience\, and even offer car-side service! \;
\nWhat a food rescue?
\nFood rescue is a little different from foo d pantries. \; Food rescues have little to no barriers\, like income r equirements. \; In our case\, we only ask for a sign-in to record our numbers. \; Food rescues take food that is still good but about to com e up on its expiration and best-by dates and gets it into the hands of peo ple like you! This reduces food waste. \; Based on an EPA estimate\, " Food waste comprises \;about 24 percent of municipal solid waste dispo sed of in landfills. Due to its quick decay rate\, food waste in landfills is contributing to more \;methane emissions \;than any other land filled materials." \; With one vehicle transporting all this food\, we can also reduce emissions.

\nStaff try to start sign-ins at 10:00am. \; Attend ees may then hang out in our lobby space or leave to return later. \; Attendees may sign up throughout the course of the day\, but this is the e arliest sign-in time.
\nThe Indian Springs Library will be ready for our food pick-up with our first person being in at 11:30 am. \; We wi ll host the first round of this rescue until 2:25 pm. \;
\nFollo wing that\, if we have additional food left\, we'll go into Second Helping s\, starting at 3 pm until 3:30 pm\, or until the food is gone!

For those arriving early\, please note we will have limited chairs in the lobby\, courtesy of our local Clark County Parks and Rec crew. \; Doors and entryways that must remain clear for traffic are marked by bl ue tape\, and we ask chairs not be put in those areas. \; \;
\nDue to li mited food availability and high demand\, we are asking that everyone be p resent to pick up their food\, that sign-ins are per household (if you're at the same address\, you are considered one household)\, and to please no te that items are limited to ensure there is enough food for everyone.&nbs p\; Everyone is welcome to return between 3 and 3:30 pm to pick up additio nal food items without the item limitations during our Saturday Second Hel pings. \; Please see that event listing for more details.
