 their photography skills through advanced portraiture\, studio lighting\, 
 low-light techniques\, creative special effects\, and visual storytelling 
 inspired by photojournalism.</p>\n<p>Students should be comfortable with t

 efore registering. An SLR-style film or digital camera with interchangeabl
 e lenses is recommended\, and a tripod will be required for some lessons.<
 /p>\n<p>Point-and-shoot cameras and cell phones may not offer the range of
  manual settings needed to complete the course assignments. However\, stud
 ents using these devices are still welcome to attend\, observe\, and learn
