<p><br />Place all ingredients in a microwaveable bowl. There should be lo

e used a one quart glass measuring cup. Cover the bowl with a microwaveabl
e spatter lid or plastic wrap that is vented. Place in a microwave on high
for 5 minutes. Stir\, the cranberries should have started to pop. Smush t
he cranberries with the back of a spoon and microwave for another 1-2 minu

4 quart measurements at END of directions)</strong></p>\n<p><br />5.5 lbs
apples\, washed and cored but not peeled (~16 medium size\, about the size
of a tennis ball) Used an assortment of apples but it's also good with Ho
 neycrisp\, for example<br />1 cup brown sugar\, firmly packed<br />3/4 cup
  white sugar<br />1 Tablespoon cinnamon<br />1/4 teaspoon salt<br />1/8 te
aspoon ground cloves<br />(Optional\, stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extr
act at the end of the cooking time.) We didn't do this.</p>\n<p><br />Chop
cored apples into 1/4&rdquo\; pieces. Place all ingredients into a slow c
ooker/ crockpot and stir to distribute dry ingredients. Cook on low for 12
hours. Apples should be very soft and peels basically dissolved. Use imme
rsion blender to achieve desired texture. Remove lid from cooker and cook
additional 2 hours to reduce to apple butter consistency.</p>\n<p><br />Se
rving suggestion: with roast pork\, by itself\, on toast or English muffin
s\, as a spread in grilled cheese sandwiches\, as an ingredient in baked g
oods.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Four Quart measurements for Apple Butter</p>\n<p><b
