Join us for an evening you will absolutely not forget! We'll start at 5:30 p.m. for some talks by our amazing guests \, Francisco Silva and Daniel Clark\, about space\, stars\, and how to tak e photos of them. \; At 7 p.m.\, we'll turn out the park lights where Francisco will have telescopes set up\, and Daniel will be available for t ips and tricks for taking photos of the night sky! \;
\nAll atte ndees to the lectures will receive a raffle ticket\, where we'll have two telescopes to give away immediately following the informational talks (one for kids\, one for adults)! Attendees must claim their raffle tickets pri or to 6:20 p.m. to be eligible to win.
\nThis event will be outdoors and temperatures in Indian Springs tend to be about 10 degrees (F) cooler than Las Vegas. \; Please dress accordingly. \; For the first 100 attendees\, we will have a special cold weather bundle! \; In the event of inclement weather\, we'll adjust and move the talks inside. For those driving from outside of Indian Springs\, please feel free to call the branch prior to d riving out and we can update you on the status of weather!
\nAbout Francisco: Francisco Silva's mother \;introduce d him \;to the night sky \;when he \;was about 6 years old.&nb sp\; At 14\, he got his \;first telescope\, which is when he \;fel l in love with the Astronomy. Since 2018\, he \;has \;had the priv ilege of being the Vice President for Outreach \;for the Las Vegas Ast ronomical Society. \nAbout D aniel: I am a professional photographer operating in my hometown of Henderson (Las Vegas)\, Nevada. I earned a degree in photography from t he University of Nevada and have since applied myself in a wide range of f ields. \; With every subject I photograph I aim to find the one image that tells the story most clearly. Along the way I gather additional momen ts\, adding context and depth\, to create a rich story that brings my subj ects clearly\, \;honestly\, and beautifully into focus. \; This wi ll be Daniel's second event with the Indian Springs Library. \; At his previous event\, he gave some great tips and tricks\, along with spending time with our attendees to use their cameras. \; \;We're happy h e accepted our invitation to return to see our dark skies!
