make it in person\, you can register to receive a zoom link so you can joi
n remotely and or watch us on YouTube either on the same day or view the c
lass video at your leisure.</span></p>\n<p>During the month of October\, t
he art class will do projects that celebrate Latino American artists and t
heir work. In each class\, a<br />Latino artist will be introduced\, their
work will be discussed and viewed\, and a project inspired by each partic
ular artist will be offered<br />for students to work on. The same artist
will be our inspiration in the morning and afternoon classes.<br /><br />T
he first artist we will look at and study is Mexican American Rafa Esparza
. His highly evocative installation work constructed of<br />hand made ado
be bricks speaks very vividly to the whole new meaning of &ldquo\;walls&rd
quo\; in our culture. Students will be invited to discuss<br />and think a
bout what walls have been in their lives. We will then create images of ei
ther metaphorical walls or actual walls. An<br />exploration of the use of
&ldquo\;earth tones&rdquo\; and ochres as minimalist and natural palettes
will be launched. We will paint and dye with<br />acrylics and other eart
hy tints like teas and coffee grounds to create our finished works.</p>\n<
p>All materials are provided. This class is open to artists of any level\,
including beginners. All are welcome!</p>\n<p>This program will be held b
oth in person and live on Zoom and YouTube.</p>\n<p>Registration is requir
ed whether you are attending in person or online. Registration closes 15 m
inutes before each class. You will receive the Zoom link and password 15 m
inutes before the class begins.</p>\n<p>If you have any questions or have
