 /p>\n<p>Beginning October 12\, 2026\, the City of Waterloo will be recruit
 ing board members for a four-year term ending in November 2030. Library Bo
 ard members work closely with Waterloo Public Library administration and s
 taff to shape a future-forward\, inclusive library system. We strive to ha
 ve a Library Board that is representative of our community and encourage e
 ligible citizens of Waterloo to apply.</p>\n<p>To be on a public library b
 oard in Ontario and in accordance with the Public Libraries Act\, R.S.O. 1
 990 Section 10 Board Member and Section 13 Disqualification of Board Membe
 rs you need to be:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Canadian citizen or a permanent reside
 nt of Canada</li>\n<li>Residents of the City of Waterloo</li>\n<li>At leas
 t 18 years of age</li>\n<li>Not be employed by the Waterloo Public Library
  (WPL) or City of Waterloo</li>\n<li>Not convicted of an indictable offenc
 e</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The average board member is committed to 4 - 6 hours per
  month to attend meetings and events. This includes 10 board meetings per
