\nExploring the Three-Act Structure through Taste of Cherry
\nWhat is a pattern story and how can we make use of rep etition without sacrificing intrigue and surprise? This is a two-part work shop. The first part is the viewing of Abbas Kiarostami&rsquo\;s award-win ning film Taste of Cherry (1997). We will watch the film together in the R PL film Theatre on the 12th of November. The following Thursday evening\, we will come together again\, this time to consider how the film&rsquo\;s protagonist\, Mr. Badii\, tries once\, twice\, and a third time to achieve his objective. This film screening is part of the Writer in Residence&rsq uo\;s Writing in Community series.
\nThis workshop builds of the previous weeks&rsquo\; screening of Abbas Kiarostami&rsquo\;s award-winning film Taste of Cherry (1997). We w ill discuss the Three-Act Structure and consider how Kiarostami puts his p rotagonist\, Mr. Badii\, through the same sequence of events three separat e times without once losing the viewer&rsquo\;s attention. How might we si milarly employ circularity and repetition in our own fiction projects.
