 ty to review exhibits of the Construction Plans\, ask questions\, and shar
 e valuable input and information with the Township&rsquo\;s project team m
 embers. Property owners of rental units are advised that tenants are also 
 invited and encouraged to participate. The goal of the project is to impro
 ve pedestrian and bicycle safety and meet ADA compliance as well as improv
 e pedestrian connectivity along Commerce Boulevard &amp\; Main Street.</p>
 \n<p><strong>BACKGROUND&nbsp\;</strong>The Township of Roxbury received a 
 grant through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) to construct p
 edestrian &amp\; cyclist safety improvements along Commerce Boulevard and 
 Main Street. The goal of the project is to create a safe pedestrian &amp\;
  cyclist corridor along Main Street allowing access to the multitude of lo
 cal businesses and nearby elementary schools.</p>\n<p><strong>EXISTING CON
 DITIONS</strong> Commerce Boulevard and Main Street serve as a pedestrian 
 and motorist thoroughfare connecting Highway 46 to State Route 10. Existin
 g sidewalks are provided along the west side of Commerce Boulevard and the
  east side of Main Street. Throughout most of the project limits\, the exi
 sting sidewalks vary in width from approximately 4 feet to 6 feet. Commerc
 e Boulevard is a fourlane roadway\, while Main Street is a two-lane roadwa
 y with on-street parking. The surrounding area includes residential homes\
 , local businesses\, and municipal buildings.</p>\n<p><strong>THE PROJECT<
 /strong> Proposed improvements include bicycle &ldquo\;Share the Road&rdqu
 o\; pavement markings and signage along Commerce Boulevard from Route 46 t
 o Main Street and along Main Street from Commerce Boulevard to Black River
  Park at Route 10. Sidewalk and streetscape improvements\, lighting\, new 
 accessible curb ramps\, crosswalks\, and signage will be provided along th
 e southerly side of Main Street from North Hillside Avenue to Eyland Avenu
 e. A continuation of curb and sidewalk will be provided along the northerl
 y side of Main Street from Eyland Avenue to Black River Park.</p>\n<p><str
 ong>ESTIMATED SCHEDULE AND COST</strong> The Final Design Phase of the pro
 ject is expected to be completed by March 2027. Construction is slated to 
 begin in the late Summer/early Fall of 2027 and is anticipated to last app
 roximately eight months. Construction costs are estimated to be approximat
 ely $1\,673\,890. All costs for Engineering Design\, Construction and Cons
 truction Inspection will be reimbursed through the Federal TAP program\, a
 dministered through NJDOT Local Aid.</p>\n<p>For further information\, ple
