X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
Exhibit runs from July 5&mdash\;September
9
\n
ARTIST STATEMENT
\n
Because I love wanderi
ng in mountain and desert landscapes\, I have
spent much of my free t
ime over the past several years hiking\, climbing
and skiing througho
ut the western states. From couloirs to canyons\, I
appreciate not on
ly experiencing wild places\, but capturing them as
well. I am especi
ally inspired by the tranquility of a summit sunrise\, the
beauty of
penitentes in the alpenglow\, and the mystery of errant
cumulus forma
tions and barking sun dogs.
\n
ARTIST BIO
\n
I
am a rising senior at West High School in Salt Lake City where
academ
ic demands sometimes clash with my mountain objectives.
Despite these
competing interests\, I have enjoyed taking pictures from
the top of
Utah&rsquo\;s 29 county high points\, eleven western state high points
including Gannett\, Hood and Rainier\, and from various climbs\, thru-<
br />hikes and ski traverses in the Uinta\, La Salle and Wasatch Ranges.</
