One Sunday a month\, we present three orig inal pieces in a varied mix\, chosen from music\, dance\, film\, theater\, performance art\, writing\, and the like &mdash\; each 12 minutes or less. The whole event is s hort and sweet\, taking about an hour.
\nFollowing each event\, we s erve coffee and cookies in an informal gathering\, a chance for conversati on with the artists.
\nJeremy Devine will p resent implementation\, a combined video\, music\, and performance piece. Slapstick physical comedy meets otherworldly dread in this showcase of his current work. Jeremy says &ldquo\;Witness an alien being at its most vuln erable\, attempting to assimilate itself into a tired populace to comedic ends.&rdquo\; \; \;
\n&ldquo\;Shadowy figures have recently circulated internal memos within the bowels of the federal bureaucracy tha t releasing the Mueller Report in text format was a naï\;ve exercise i n 20th century print nostalgia\, and that if they wanted the public to dig est the full import of the report\, an episodic 10 minute cartoon< /strong> format would achieve greater penetration of US political consciou sness. These rogue operators have managed to exfiltrate one film reel so f ar\, and will selectively leak additional footage starting with 12 Minutes Max. \nChoreographer Fiona Ne lson will present an excerpt of Semblance\, a dance that &ldquo\; explores the phases of the moon\, Mother/Daughter relationships\, memory\, longing\, and loss. Movement motifs investigate circular floor patterns a nd retrograde themes\, along with Fiona&rsquo\;s characteristic style of s weeping motions\, articulation of the spine\, deconstructed canons\, and d ynamic use of space.&rdquo\; The piece will be performed by Leslie Babalis \, Kendall Fischer\, and Jana Young. The original work with seven dancers was created within Myriad Dance Company's recent project\, PENUMBRA.
