The purpose of A Walk for Education (AWFE) is to increase awareness and spread information about the educational opp ortunities available to the community. To begin the event members will wal k through the neighborhoods in the area\, and volunteers will hand out inf ormational pamphlets on higher education to local residents.
After th e walk\, community members are invited to join The National Society of Bla ck Engineers (NSBE) members and volunteers at the Alachua County Library T ower Road Branch to enjoy STEM Related Experiments. Some examples of the S TEM Experiments for the audience may include DIY Silly Putty\, Lava Lamp o r Cloud in a Bottle. These fun activities will be open to all community yo uth. After the experiments food will be provided in the Outdoor Program Ar ea.
The NSBE mission is to increase the number of culturally responsi ble black engineers who excel academically\, succeed professionally\, and positively impact the community. Through AWFE\, our members are able to po sitively affect the professional and academic success of future generation s of engineers from our local area. We hope to see you there!
