Monday Movie of the Month is a new film se ries at the Bettendorf Public Library. We're launching this program with a six-month series that explores several tried-and-true film genres through pairings of classic and modern films.

Our first genre is the musi cal\, and this month we'll be watching Vincente Minnelli's 1944 classic Meet Me in St. Louis\, starring Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien. Follow a year in the life of the Smith family in early-twentieth-century S t. Louis\, and hear the Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane songs written for the film that have become standards\, including "The Trolley Song" and "Have Y ourself a Merry Little Christmas."
